----- Though there was low attendance, some logistics about the march were discussed. A 2nd meeting is planned for Friday, January 27, 2006 at 7:00PM at CMAS.

Everyone is invited to attend this board meeting. Though you will only be observing the meeting, you still get an insight of what is happening with other JIFM chapters at different campuses.

Coalition for Higher Education Meeting @ HCC Southeast
Friday, February 10th ----- 11:00 to 1:00PM
The Coalition has a JIFM Committee. We would like all Jóvenes interested to attend this meeting to give feedback about what we (JIFM-UH) are doing. This is also a great chance to network.


Issues Discussed-----

Ø Event Attendance- Because the majority of us are full time students and have jobs and other responsibilities to take care of, we understand that we might all be able to attend all events. For this reason, JIFM had decided to implement a new “rule”.
If an event requires more than 2 or more people, such as a conference, and no more that 2 people have signed up to help, we will not attend that event.
Though JIFM would love to attend all events in order to continue our goal of educating the public of our organization and our cause, this is not possible if only the same 2 people volunteer at every event. We encourage everyone to attend at least one event.

PS...

1. JIFM needs VOLUNTEERS to woman/man the table this Wednesday the 25th from 11A - 2P in the UC for Activities Mart (interested let us know) We will have a table to exhibit our display and give out information and MOST importantly recruit students!!!

2. We will having a Tamales Sale Thursday Jan. 26th at the PGH Brezeeway 9a - 2p. We need VOLUNTEERS to man/women the table and also need donations like: Bottled water, "Coke" drinks, baked goods. If you want to help make the tamales let us know too.

a FRESH new START!!

In celebration of The Nobel Peace Prize Winner (1964), Martin Luther King Jr. we would like for everyone to keep in mind the final and most powerful speech "I have a DREAM." (http://www.hpol.org/record.php?id=720 08/28/1963) It it's very inspirational and worth listening too.

Thank you for an active FAll '05 Semester. Spring '06 kicks-off with an array of activities to continue our campaign for the passage of the DREAM Act. Therefore, it is important that we count with your enthusiastic invovelment for our student-driven organization. We urge you to participate with JIFM-UH as 2006 is the DEFINITE year for immigration reform.

We will keep you posted on Meeting Dates SOON....but our tentative first meeting will be January 26, 2006 accompanied by a Tamales Sale that same day.... Please be patient, we know everyone in eagered to help and we are ecstatic for that...
